Behati Prinsloo says being a mom has “changed” her in many ways.
The Victoria’s Secret Angel, who has two children with husband Adam Levine, candidly discussed going through postpartum depression, telling Today that she once struggled with being a new mom.
“I had moments of postpartum (depression) after our first baby (daughter Dusty, now 2) that I felt like it was coming through,” she said. “But my husband was so incredibly supportive and always got me out of it. I think it’s very normal, though, as a young mom and a new mom to feel helpless and to feel overly emotional, you know.”
She gave birth to the couple’s first child, Dusty Rose, in 2016, and welcomed their second child, Geo Grace, in 2018
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, postpartum depression can be common, occurring in as many as 1 in 5 women in the U.S.
Prinsloo previously discussed her experience in an interview with Porter Edit in January, adding that things eventually got easier for her.
“After my first baby, I had a little postpartum depression and it was difficult to get back into normal life, but after the second one everything felt so much easier; it was easier for me to workout, breastfeeding was easier,” she said at the time.
The model told Today that she’s opening up about what she went through to encourage other moms to ask for help when they need it.
“I think I got lucky not to have it to an extreme case [of postpartum depression], but you can see yourself spiraling,” she said. “And I think that the message is just that it’s never too little to ask for help. So no matter how small your feelings and stress — or whatever it is about being a new mom — there’s always help out there and support from family and friends.
Newlywed life is coming up roses for one Bachelor in Paradise couple.
Close to a week after Chris Randone and Krystal Nielson returned to Mexico for a romantic wedding ceremony, the Bachelor Nation couple is shedding some light into married life.
“This weekend Chris and I took the boys on a walk to Balboa Park. We decided that morning ‘family walks’ are dedicated to the weekend so that we each have dedicated ‘me time’ during the week,” Krystal shared on Instagram. “This is one of many new and AWESOME commitments we are making to each other as we acclimate to married life.”
She continued, “With our first Saturday family walk underway, we let the boys off leash to run and play. Chucky is SERIOUSLY the fastest dog and the joy on his face to blaze through the open fields MELTS hearts!!!”
What was supposed to be a nice, calm moment quickly took a turn, however, when a car came close to hitting their dog Chucky.
“I didn’t even recognize the sound that came out of my mouth as I SCREAMED his name, hoping the driver would hear me. He did. Thank GOD,” she wrote. “Yes, I know that despite the joy they get from frolicking in large fields they will always be leashed.”
The reality star added, “I wanted to share this because it was a scary reminder of how precious and short life is with surprises around every corner. I hope you take today to tell someone you love them and hold them close because LIFE IS PRECIOUS.”
Putting scary moment aside, the couple’s first weekend as husband and wife did include plenty of happy moments.
In between watching the PGA tour, the couple was able to enjoy their “first date night as a married couple” on Friday evening.
For fans hoping to experience their romantic wedding day, you’re in luck! Cameras were rolling when Chris Harrison officiated the ceremony that will air on the new season of Bachelor in Paradise premiering August 5 on ABC.
And while details remain top-secret, E! News previously got a few special details about the big day.
“It was a small wedding but was very glamorous. Krystal wanted the wedding to be elegant consisting of mostly white florals and décor, with hints of blush,” a source shared with E! News. “Their vows were very emotional and the Bachelor stars who attended were all crying with them.”
He spent the weekend with his family, larking about at a birthday party getting sprayed with glitter and blue hair dye.
The photos on social media were as fun and carefree as ever and the captions just as cheery and upbeat.
But when This Morning host Phillip Schofield took to Twitter yesterday he had lost his sparkle and sounded as blue as his barnet over a “feud” with Amanda Holden .
“The end of another really sad weekend,” he told his 4.53 million Twitter followers.
“When you try for 35 years to be the easiest, most fun person to work with and you read such hurtful and wildly untrue stories from nameless ‘sources’.
“Obviously I’ll take it on the chin. I just hope you know me better.”
Those hurtful stories concern Britain’s Got Talent star Amanda, 48, and claims about his egotistical, unreasonable behaviour.
Amanda is said to blame Schofield, 57, for blocking her as his side-kick while Holly Willoughby, 38, hosted last year’s I’m A Celebrity.
Reports also claimed that he had: clashed with another female star; rowed with a Dancing on Ice writer; become furious when a magazine cover suggested Holly eclipsed him on screen; and was responsible for a “toxic” atmosphere off camera on the set of This Morning.
The stories cast such a shadow over his sunny TV persona some pundits are asking if the Silver Fox has a dark streak.
But yesterday, as Amanda stirred things further on her Heart FM radio show, supporters went on Twitter to support “Schofe”, hailing “a national treasure” and “absolute gentleman”.
TV psychologist and presenter Emma Kenny said: “No one believes any of that Phil. Two minutes in your company and you’re made to feel utterly at ease.”
Perfume queen Jo Malone, who has been a This Morning guest, called him “a kind, interested, life enhancing gentleman”.
Sports presenter James Green added: “Always an absolute gentleman any time I worked on This Morning. Ignore the hate.”
Relationship guru Dr Pam Spurr, tweeted: “You’ve only ever been lovely and kind to me (and fun!) .”
Dancing on Ice colleagues also leapt to Schofield’s defence.
Skating pro Matt Evers said: “12 series… not once have I seen nor heard a bad thing from you.”
And show winner James Jordan tweeted: “It was an absolute pleasure to work with you on DOI…very supportive and caring person. You’re a top man.”
One regular on This Morning has called for Amanda to be axed from ITV for besmirching Schofield.
Sophie Prescott, who hosts a craft segment on the show, said: “The picture she is painting of Phillip of being ruthless and unkind is simply not true in my opinion.”
Sophie was on This Morning with Amanda, 48, last Halloween . She said: “Amanda was all ‘me, me, me’.
“I put on a brave happy face doing the show but Amanda was very off-putting during my live appearance, kept asking questions, kept interfering.
“Amanda Holden is being thoroughly unprofessional in her behaviour to a fellow ITV family member.
“Whatever beef she has with Phillip should be dealt with behind closed doors. Amanda should be ‘yellow-carded’ and told to shut up or face getting the sack from Britain’s Got Talent.”
Amanda stepped into Holly’s shoes in 2014 when she went on maternity leave and has joined the show on other occasions. In 2015, Phil confessed working with her kept him on his toes. He said: “She has a faulty edit button and she forgets she’s on the telly, which is enormously endearing and funny, but occasionally quite scary.”
The feud began this month when Amanda told her radio show listeners the things she would never like to find in her home were: “Spiders, flies and Phillip Schofield.”
Then a newspaper claimed she blamed him for persuading ITV bosses to choose The Saturdays’ singer Rochelle Humes to stand in while Holly took over Ant McPartlin’s hosting duties in the jungle.
A source said: “She was told he’d chosen Rochelle because she was easier to ‘manage’ on air. That incensed her.”
Amanda was said to have raised her concerns with ITV chief Kevin Lygo and confronted Schofield about it when she was a guest on the show in October, saying she felt let down.
An ITV spokeswoman said: “Presenter line-ups on This Morning change regularly and final decisions on these line-ups are made by producers and not the presenters.
“Phillip Schofield is a much-loved broadcaster and part of the ITV family. He is a consummate professional and held in high regard at ITV.”
On her radio show yesterday, Amanda claimed to have contacted Phil in a bid to make up.
She told co-host Jamie Theakston: “He didn’t reply to my text. What can I say?” Jamie said: “The olive branch had been extended.” She replied: “Yes.”
Jamie asked if they could reconcile like feuding stars Katy Perry and Taylor Swift , who patched things up dressed as a burger and fries in a music video.
He asked: “Will there be a burger and fries moment for you guys?” Amanda replied: “I doubt it. I’m a vegetarian.”
Sources have also claimed that there has been “simmering tension” between him and Holly since a joint interview with a magazine.
The cover showed them together but with a crown drawn on Holly and the headline: “Queen Holly. How Holly Willoughby eclipsed Phillip Schofield”.
Phil was said to have been furious, even though Holly had insisted in the article: “It’s more than just a working relationship. It’s a genuine friendship.”
The pair often go on holiday together with their families. Phil has been married to Stephanie Lowe for 25 years and Holly to Daniel Baldwin since 2007. Holly tried to smooth things over this month with a Father’s Day tribute to Phil, posting: “Talking of important men in my life on Fathers Day. Here’s another one… love you @schofe”
As friends leapt to Phil’s defence on Twitter yesterday a former member of the This Morning team told the Mirror he was “one of the nicest, most genuine men in TV”.
The woman said: “You only have to look at the genuine close friendships he’s formed with his female co-hosts – Holly and Fern Britton before her.”
Phil joined ITV’s flagship show in 2002 after John Leslie left.
Phil later recalled: “After my first day, Fern sat me down with a bottle of Scotch and said, ‘This is a job where you’ve got to know me very well and I’ve got to know you very well, so here we go, I’ll tell you everything’. We had a very honest booze-fuelled afternoon. By the next day there were no secrets and we were best of mates.”
That friendship was tested in 2009 when Fern left This Morning – amid rumours she was furious that Phil was paid three times more than her when they presented All Star Mr & Mrs.
Fern said claims of a rift were “b***ocks”, but they never spoke of each other in public for two years.
Then, in 2011, as she launched her own ill-fated chat show, Fern said she’d had a “lovely” text message from Phil, adding: “It was very sweet of him.”
Phil has clearly been deeply hurt by attacks on his “Mr Nice Guy” image.
But the outpouring of love and support on Twitter suggest it won’t be long until he regains his usual sparkle.
After Michael Jackson’s shock death ten years ago, moving scenes of his three children grieving their beloved dad at a tribute concert were screened around the world.
50-year-old Jackson died of a cardiac arrest just three weeks before he was set to take the stage with an ambitious 50 date This Is It Tour.
A lot has changed in the decade since the King of Pop passed away, with Prince, Paris and Blanket growing up in front of the world’s eyes.
From defending their father’s reputation, to changing names and even finding stardom themselves, the kids have experienced a lot of change since Jackson’s passing.
A family friend previously revealed how the Jackson children live their lives as though he’s looking over them and want to do whatever it takes to make him proud.
Here is what Prince, Paris and Blanket are up to now.
Prince is the eldest of Jackson’s three children, and was just 12 years old when his dad died. His mother is Michael’s second wife Debbie Rowe, though the pop star raised Prince and his siblings as his own.
Now 22, Paris, graduated from Loyola Marymount University this month after studying Business.
Footage from the ceremony drove Michael Jackson fans into a frenzy as a clip appeared to show a high-pitched voice ringing out that sounded mysteriously like the singer’s.
As Prince is collecting his diploma on stage a woman who is behind the camera can be heard saying “Right there on the left.”
She points the lens at Prince before it quickly pans to the room and an unknown man’s voice says something inaudible.
Prince put his studies to use as he launched his own production company King’s Son Productions in 2016.
In the past Prince joked that his dad may be renowned as the ‘King of Pop’ but he’s missed out on any of his performance genes.
That hasn’t stopped Prince trying his hand at various Entertainment Shows.
Prince and his sister Paris accepted their father’s Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2010 Grammys.
He also founded the Heal Los Angeles charity to continue on his late dad’s Heal The World initative.
Prince made a permanent tribute to Michael by having a tattoo etched on his leg last year in his memory.
Months later the controversial Leaving Neverland documentary went to air.
The Jackson estate said as with all of Michael’s children, Prince was badly shaken by the release.
Though Prince has never spoken publicly about the allegations.
Paris has immersed herself in the showbiz spotlight to a much greater extent than her brothers since her father’s death.
The middle of Jackson’s children has become something of an ‘It girl’ in recent years, landing acting gigs and modelling contracts.
But it hasn’t all been play-sailing, Paris has also been vocal about her mental health battles.
She opened up about her struggles in a 2017 chat with Rolling Stone magazine.
Recalling her lowest moment, Paris said: “It was just self-hatred, low self-esteem, thinking that I couldn’t do anything right, not thinking I was worthy of living anymore.”
As well as her battles with anxiety and depression, Paris admitted she’s still struggling to deal with her dad’s shock death
She said of her grief: “They always say, ‘Time heals.’
“But it really doesn’t. You just get used to it. I live life with the mentality of ‘OK, I lost the only thing that has ever been important to me.’
“So going forward, anything bad that happens can’t be nearly as bad as what happened before. So I can handle it.”
More recently, Paris has been a fierce defender of her later father – following the recent Leaving Neverland documentary.
Paris hit back at trolls on her twitter as she labelled the allegations as “tabloids and lies”. She tweeted: “So….not love and peace and trying to carry that message out? tabloids and lies are the bigger picture? I’ll pray for you.”
She added: “Yeah they do that to everyone with a good heart and tries to make a difference but do you really think that it’s possible to tear his name down?
“Like do you truly believe they stand a chance? relax and have peace.”
While he was alive Michael always denied allegations against him and in June 2005 was acquitted of child molestation.
Paris is said to have jetted off to Europe on the ten year anniversary of her father’s death to ‘help heal her pain.’
She was spotted taking selfies with her boyfriend Gabriel Glenn and other friends in Paris.
While he grabbed headlines as a baby when his singer dad dangled him over a hotel balcony, Jackson’s youngest child Blanket has managed to keep a fairly low profile over the last ten years.
A family friend previously said of all Jackson’s children Blanket had the most problems adjusting after his death.
“He acted very lost and extremely upset,” a source told People magazine at the time.
Blanket – real name Prince Michael Jackson II – was brought up by his grandmother Katherine Jackson, 88, since his father’s shock death in June 2009.
His late grandfather Joe said that Blanket was the most like his famous son, compared to his older siblings Prince and Paris.
